Coming Together: A Day of Reflection on Poverty took place October 15, 1 to 3pm at The Mount Community Centre
In recognition of the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Poverty, Peterborough Social Planning Council, Peterborough Poverty Reduction Network, City of Peterborough Social Services Division, and United Way Peterborough & District were proud to host Coming Together: A Day of Reflection on Poverty.
Celebrate and Reflect. The collective aspiration for the day was to inspire people to make a commitment, a pledge, to act purposefully and with intention to end poverty.
Artists, and speakers shared their personal reflections on the question “what does poverty mean to people, to my community, and to me”. The day was filled with music, spoken word, visual arts, videos of people with lived experience, and movement pieces. It was a day of stillness and reflection.
